The GoMicro Wiki was made to offer a place for concentrated knowledge about GoMicro products, electronics and everything evolving around those topics. In the GoMicro Wiki you can find useful information as well as entire project tutorials to enhance your electronics and microcontroller skills. The GoMicro Wiki is split up into several parts, some that can be written by individual users such as projects and some that can only be written by KEC professionals to ensure 100% correctness.
Any user, any comment, any page and any asset on the GoMicro Wiki must follow the guidelines at all time. In case of guideline violations we preserve our right to irrevocably delete the violating content and/or the violating user account without further notice.
Any rule violation can be reported to following email: GoMicroWiki@leonardkrahl.xyz
Special conditions apply to employees.
Rules may be updated at any time.
The GoMicro Wiki is a closed and well maintained ecosystem, thus we are restricting access for all external users to keep the platform safe, unbloated and user friendly. By default all external users are part of the Guest group. As a guest you have access to all the public articles, comments and assets. Verified people can gain member access allowing them to additionally write comments. However anything above the member role is reserved for KEC employees and KEC partners.
Natively only KEC employees and partners can write pages, but there is a way for external users to publish artices they think are missing. Publishing pages as a external user (guest/member) is a little bit diffrent though. There are high standards that must be met to ensure a consistant quality across all pages, thus we preserve the right to manually check all pages written by external users and we do not give users access to the native writing tools. For more information review the page about publishing articles.
GoMicro is the name of a ecosystem of microcontrollers made for beginners, intermediates and professionals alike. It consists not only of hardware but also software, such as drivers and documentation such as this wiki. The GoMicro project is run by a company based in Germany called Krahl Electronics or KEC in short.
Many people say C++ is one of the hardest realistic programming languages out there due to its sometimes beginner unfriendly syntax and its memory unsafety, while this might be true for a highlevel context, e.g. when programming a game for Windows, it is a fairly different story in bare metal programming. Here features like memory safety are pretty much meaningless as the only program running is your own. Unintentionally corrupting your own data is not impossible but nothing that occurrs every day. The same thing applies for other high level concepts such as replacing parts of strings, creating iterated data objects and so on all those things are what makes C++ syntax “complicated” and all of those things are unnecessary in bare metal programming.
The GoMicro wiki provides plenty of resources for you to learn C++ and bare metal programming, however it can't be wrong to also consume other types of resources such as youtube videos or maybe even a book as every human is different and every human has a different way of learning.
Most importantly: do not give up, make sure you understand what you just coded and don't let AI do all the work because this way you won't learn anything.
